The Department of Pediatrics delivers an exceptional clinical care to children under the age of 12 years.

The fundamental nature of pediatrics lies in nurturing the health and well-being of children. It shows detailed images of any part of the body, including the bones, muscles, fat, organs and blood vessels. The Computed tomography (CT) machine in the ERRH, Mongar is Hitachi Supria 16 slice.

Human Resource:

There are two general pediatricians and trained nurses managing ward and ICUs. The care team also includes committed health care worker like physiotherapists, audiologist and staffs in looking after immunization and developmental milestones.

Services:

The department caters to the specific healthcare needs of our youngest patients with several specialized units, each designed to provide targeted care:

A. In-Patient Department:

a. General Pediatric Ward, equipped with 9 beds, provides a reassuring atmosphere for children in need of prolonged medical care. With unwavering dedication and expertise, their well-being and swift recovery are our priority

b. Two-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is equipped with advanced care to many critically ill children who arrive at an advanced stage from distant district hospitals which is managed by general pediatricians at present.

c. Neonatal ICU, a specialized unit with 6 beds, caters to our most delicate premature newborns with round-the-clock coverage by pediatricians. Trained nurses oversee the babies with severe illnesses with special attention to extremely premature infants and low birth weights. Mechanical ventilators and surfactant therapy are available for preterm newborns. Skin to skin and Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) are highly encouraged; with step down and in-house phototherapy services

d. Three-bed Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) unit fosters essential bonding between mothers and their premature infants with nurturing environment and emotional connection promoting their optimal growth and health.
