Department of anesthesiology strives to provide highest satisfaction to patients undergoing surgery with safe, timely services and evidence based best practices.

It encompasses not only the science of diagnosis and treatment but also the art of compassionate care. Pediatricians safeguard the future by tending to the unique needs of each child, promoting growth, development, and a brighter tomorrow.

The Operation Theatre complex is located on the first floor of the hospital. It consists of patient reception area, four operating rooms and a recovery room or post anesthesia care unit (PACU). We provide anesthesia services routinely on weekdays from 9 am-3pm. Our personnel are scheduled to attend emergencies for 24X7 hrs.

We ensure the safety and well-being of patients before, during, and after surgery. The type of anesthesia that we provide includes

  1. General anesthesia where patients are induced in a state of controlled unconsciousness
  2. Regional anesthesia where only a portion of the body is made numb
  3. Sedation where patients will be relieved of pain or anxiety

These anesthetics provide continuous pain relief and sustain patients’ critical life functions as they are affected throughout surgical, obstetrical, or other medical procedures.

We provide comprehensive preoperative assessment of the patient (PAC) where we carefully consider the patient’s current state of health and the planned surgical procedure. This helps anesthesiologists to formulate safest anesthesia plan for each individual patient.

Our role also extends to providing injections for back pains (epidural steroid injections), provision of sedation for diagnostic procedures like CT scans and other medical procedures in the wards, providing pain and palliative care.
