Physiotherapy helps in developing and maintaining people’s ability to move and function throughout their lives.

The Physiotherapy Department in ERRH was established in the early 90s, initially with one Physiotherapy Technician, where services starting from therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, and manual therapy to assistive devices were available. Then after the new hospital was set up in 2008, the services provided by the Physiotherapy Department expanded with the recruitment of new physiotherapists and physiotherapy technicians in various specialties.

Our Physiotherapy Department provides acute and non-acute inpatient and outpatient services including the followings;

The Occupational Therapy of ERRH is collaborated with the Physiotherapy Department consisting of one occupational therapist who provides their services.

Hours of service
Clinical services are available for both the inpatient and outpatient from 9 am to 3 pm, 6 days/week with on-call 24 hours for inpatient.

Physiotherapy Services detail

 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy focuses on the muscles and joints, posture and movement and involves working with people to: Help restore movement and function when this has been affected by an injury or illness.

 Neurological Physiotherapy
We assess and treat people with neurological conditions. These are conditions associated with the central nervous system – the brain, spinal cord and nerves.

Pediatric Physiotherapy
We do assessment, identification and diagnosis of, and treatment of child development and movement difficulties.

 Assistive Devices.
We provide assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, etc for mobility of the patients suffering from illness.

 Women’s Health
Women’s Health Physiotherapy is the care of women in relation to childbirth, both antenatally and postnatally, including the teaching of antenatal classes, in the treatment of incontinence, and in the care of women undergoing gynaecological surgery.

 Hand Therapy
Hand therapy is a form of physiotherapy that focuses on the assessment and treatment of injuries and conditions of the hand and arm, optimizing its functional use.

 Orthotic and prosthetics services.
We focus on splinting of the affected parts after assessment and also do postoperative splints. In regards to prosthetics we collaborate with the Gidakom hospital prosthetic team.

 Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy
We undertake a comprehensive assessment of cardiorespiratory system, endurance and mobility and will then tailor a treatment program for the patient suffering from cardiorespiratory conditions.

 Sports Physiotherapy.
We also provide services in sport events whenever required.

 Therapy for special children.
We collaborate with special schools and assess the special children and help in optimizing their mobility functional status.
