Induction training for newly appointed staff.

The 30 newly recruited staffs underwent two days of comprehensive induction courses on 6th and 7th August at hospital convention hall to enable them in hospital system and many other related agendas. They are the candidates selected by the ministry of health through open competition announcement and selection interview last month.

Mongar hospital will have the services of new recruits in various fields, they are 1 receptionist, 3 EPABX operator, 1 dispatcher, 3 drivers, 20 ward boys/girls, 1 laundry person and 1 cook. They joined hospital on 1st August and will be working in their own departments from now onward for the service of patients directly and indirectly.

In the purview of their various important roles and responsibilities in hospital setup the induction course covered all aspects. This includes hospital profile and facilities, overview of Bhutan civil service rules(BCSR), nursing services and facilities, overview of QMS, infection control and waste management(ICWM), 5S-CQI and finally demonstration with practical session on ICWM. The resource persons for inducting new staff are administrative officer, medical superintendent, nursing superintendent and QA focal person of the Mongar hospital.

Two days of induction is in the interest of new staff especially this batch of new recruits because many of the selected candidates were new to the system of Mongar hospital. They were extensively involved in learning of infection control and waste management so that new recruits gets customary and standards are maintained for best practice of hospital.

Mongar hospital has been conducting induction courses for all clinical and non clinical new staff every year for the core interest of hospital functionality at the service of the public.
